As I’m sure you know, Toronto is in lockdown, which means my show, Quiet Stories, at Akasha Art Projects can’t be visited in person. That’s just the way we’re rolling right now, but I REALLY wanted you to be able to see these paintings in real life. They’re soft and subtle and I enjoyed making them so much.
So, in keeping with the we’ll-figure-it-out spirit of 2020, instead of an in-person visit, I’ve made a short video, which I hope will give you a sense of the exhibition and some of my thoughts about the paintings.
Please email or DM me if you have any questions about the work!
BTW, you can acquire any of the paintings in the show on my website, or through Akasha Art Projects. If you’re in the Toronto area and looking for a last minute art gift, it’s not too late to arrange to get get one of the paintings to you before the 24th.
I’m Janet Taylor. In my paintings and prints, I take those gifted moments–a whispered reveal of structure, or a passing glance of color and light–and give them permanent form. You can read more about me and my thoughts on art on my about page.
Here on the blog I share inside looks at my process, studio news and thoughts about living with art.
