Artist Project 2021 Screentime Online Exhibition Series
Any exhibition based on gender identity runs the risk of being prescriptive rather than descriptive, illustrating an idea of what art made by women should be expressing, rather than what it does express. There is a temptation to select work that specifically discusses or references gender topics. In this case though, the curators at the Artist Project have bypassed that narrow view of what art made by women can be and selected a group of artists that express a wide and varied expression of their world.
It’s no secret that works by women are under-represented in museums and exhibitions around the world. I'm so thrilled to be included in this talented group.
