The title of ‘Rose Moon’ refers to our tradition of naming the moons in each season, marking the passage of time, but honouring the ongoing cycles of the season. The ‘Rose Moon’ happens in June. It is the European name for what is referred to as the ’Strawberry Moon’ here in North America. The name speaks to the pinkish colour of that moon, and the painting refers to that pinkish light and to June being the season of roses and blooms.

This painting is available on-line or in-person through Arta Gallery in the Distillery District of Toronto, ON, currently featured in the OCT exhibition, October 15-31, 2025.
